asked the Secretary of State for India, Whether he can inform the House of the number of students who have entered the Civil Engineering College at Roorkee for the last three years, and the number of appointments made to the Indian Public Works Department from the College during the same period?

, in reply, said, he was sorry he could not give the information without telegraphing to India. A certain number of appointments were reserved, and he could not state how they had been filled up.
