HC Deb 04 March 1881 vol 259 c329
SIR HENRY HOLLAND

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether any progress has been made towards the settlement of the Fortune Bay Fishery dispute; and, whether he can, consistently with the public interest, inform the House what is the present position of the case?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

In asking my hon. Friend to postpone his Question from last Tuesday to this day, I hoped, Sir, to be able to make known the position of the negotiations which were then proceeding; but, as these have not yet come to a conclusion, I can only promise that no delay shall take place in communicating their result to the House.
