HC Deb 03 February 1881 vol 258 c66
MR. BRYCE

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether there is any foundation for the statement contained in a Reuter's telegram, and published in various newspapers, to the effect that isolated communications are being addressed to the Porte by Mr. St. John, who at present represents Her Majesty at Constantinople?

SIR CHARLES W. DILKE

In answer to the Question of the hon. Member as to whether there is any foundation whatever for a Reuter's telegram in the papers of to-day, which states that isolated communications are being made by Mr. St. John to the Porte on the Greek Frontier Question, I have to say that there is no foundation for this report.
