§ COLONEL MAKINSasked the President of the Local Government Board, Whether it is a fact that the authorities of the Fulham Smallpox Hospital, or the parish authorities, are erecting a temporary wooden building for the reception of smallpox patients on the surface and extending to the whole width of the Imperial Road leading to the River Thames from the Fulham Road; 1419 and, if so, by what authority such an erection is placed upon a highway dedicated to the use of the public?
§ MR. DODSONThe Local Government Board have no information as to the erection of any such accommodation at Fulham for the reception of smallpox patients. The only two authorities over whom the Board have any jurisdiction in relation to the provision of hospitals at Fulham are the managers of the Metropolitan Asylums District and the Guardians; and from neither of these bodies have the Board received any intimation of an intention to adopt a course so extraordinary as that of setting up a small-pox hospital upon a public highway.
