asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If it is true that a young woman named Hampson, who was sentenced at the Salford Quarter Sessions on 1st March last to three months imprisonment, has been detained beyond that period by mistake, in place of a prisoner under a longer sentence; and, whether, in that case, he has given directions for her liberation?

, in reply, said, it was not true the young woman in question had been illegally detained in prison, as it appeared that her sentence was not three, but six months.
