§ COLONEL STANLEY, in reply, said, the subject had been brought to his notice, especially with reference to the selection of Coolies or Chinese for transport service; but although he was 1838 making inquiries, he was not yet in possession of sufficient information to justify him in coming to any positive conclusion.
