asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, If he can inform the House if it is not the case that Sir Bryan O'Loghlen, subsequently to his acceptance of the office of Attorney General of Victoria, while a Member of the Victorian Legislature, resigned his seat and submitted himself for re-election in due accordance with the provisions of the Victoria Government Act of 1855?

Yes, Sir; I am informed by the Governor of Victoria that Sir Bryan O'Loghlen, prior to being appointed Attorney General of Victoria, resigned his seat and submitted himself for reelection.
