§ MR. ERNEST NOELasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether the expenses of the expedition to the Malay Peninsula, in December 1875, have been adjusted between the Home and the Indian Governments; and, if so, whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to ask Parliament, during the present Session, to vote any portion of such expenses?
§ SIR MICHAEL HICKS-BEACHI regret to say that no final adjustment of the accounts of the Malay Expedition in 1875 has as yet been arrived at. The Colonial Government has, I believe, furnished a complete account; but the apportionment of the remaining expenditure has not yet been settled between the other Departments concerned and the Treasury. I fear it is extremely doubtful whether any Vote can be asked for this Session.
