§ SIR CHARLES W. DILKEasked the right hon. Gentleman the Secretary of State for the Home Department a 829 Question of which he had given him private Notice—namely, Whether any, and if any what, steps will be taken by the Government with a view to the reorganization of the Detective Police Force?
MR. ASSHETON CROSSI must express a hope that hon. Members will not give credit to everything that is said in the examination now going on in the police court. I thought it right that very careful inquiry should be made not only with regard to the accusations which have been made against the detectives, but also with regard to the Force generally, and a Committee has been appointed for the purpose, such Committee consisting of Colonel Fielding, Mr. J. B. Maule, Mr. Overend, and my hon. Friend, Sir Henry Selwin-Ibbetson.
