§ MR. SCLATER-BOOTHMy attention has been called to the unfortunate circumstances which have led to the withdrawal of the well-known school from Upping ham to the coast, and during last winter, at the urgent request of the school authorities, I rendered them such assistance as I could in the difficult and painful position in which they were placed, without, however, presuming to express an opinion on the points in con- 50 troversy between themselves and the town authorities. I have now every reason to believe that the sanitary authority are ready and willing to undertake such works of sewerage and water supply as are required to put their district into a satisfactory state, and that they have taken the necessary preliminary steps with that object.
