§ VISCOUNT SANDONSir, I quite understand the anxiety of my right hon. Friend to know the provisions of the Government Bill respecting Primary Education, as I suffered myself from the same anxiety in 1873, when a Bill respecting Elementary Education was announced in the Speech from the Throne. In that year, however, if my memory serves me, my right hon. Friend was not able to bring his Bill before the House till the 12th of June. I hope to be able to introduce the Government measure respecting education shortly after Easter, and, anyhow, I sincerely trust that history will not so far repeat itself as that I should be compelled to put off its introduction till the 12th of June, the comparatively late date when he brought in his last measure.
