HC Deb 14 March 1876 vol 227 c2013
MR. BELL

asked Mr. Attorney General, Whether the Commission appointed to inquire into the propriety of altering the Bankruptcy Laws have presented a Report, and what steps Her Majesty's Government propose taking in reference to this question?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL

, in reply, said, no Commission had been appointed to inquire into the propriety of altering the Bankruptcy Laws. A small Departmental Committee had been appointed by the Lord Chancellor to inquire into certain points in those laws, and a Bill to carry out the views of that Committee would be introduced as soon as the progress of Public Business would permit.
