HC Deb 04 July 1876 vol 230 c946
SIR WILLIAM HARCOURT

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether he will lay upon the Table the Correspondence which passed between the English Government and the Government of Canada on the subject of the extradition of Caldwell in the years 1870–71, who was indicted in the United States for an offence different from that in respect of which he was surrendered; and, when the recent Despatches and Correspondence with reference to the extradition of Winslow will be laid on the Table?

MR. ASSHETON CROSS,

in reply, said, that the Question having only appeared on the Paper that morning he had not had the opportunity of consulting the Secretary of State for the Colonies upon it; but no doubt any Correspondence which had taken place between our Government and the Government of Canada on the subject would be laid on the Table. He believed that the Papers relating to Winslow's case had either been laid on the Table, or would be in the course of that day or to-morrow.
