HC Deb 24 May 1875 vol 224 c791
CAPTAIN NOLAN

asked the Secretary of State for War, If he intends to postpone the training of the Galway Militia in consequence of the present prevalence of small-pox in that county?

MR. GATHORNE HARDY

Sir, the preliminary drill and training of the Galway Militia, which was to have commenced on the 3rd of May, has been postponed until further orders, in consequence of the prevalence of small-pox in the county. A further Report will be furnished by the authorities in Ireland, on which, with their advice, it will be determined whether or not the training for the present year should be dispensed with altogether.
