MR. GOLDSMIDasked the First Commissioner of Works, Whether he has yet made any arrangements for widening the lower portion of Parliament Street; and, if not, whether he proposes to do so before the next Session of Parliament?
LORD HENRY LENNOXSir, the question of providing additional accommodation for our Government Offices in Parliament Street, was, and I believe is, under the consideration of the Government; but I have not yet learnt what their decision is. However, I can assure the hon. Member that I shall feel the greatest satisfaction if I should receive instructions to make arrangements for sweeping away the unsightly block of buildings which now disfigures the lower end of Parliament Street.
