§ MR. BOURKESir, in answer to the hon. Gentleman, I have to state that the rumours alluded to in his Question are unfounded. It is not the intention of Her Majesty's Government to recall the Minister from Madrid, whose duties have been performed to the entire satisfaction of Her Majesty's Government; and it is not the intention of Her Majesty's Government to despatch Colonel Connolly to the Court of Spain. Therefore, under these circumstances, the further explanation asked for is not required.
