LUSHasked the President of the Local Government Board, Whether his official notice has been directed to the circumstances attending the removal of Nathaniel Worthington, an insane soldier, from Devonport Military Hospital to Westminster Union Workhouse on the 6th of January last; and, whether any Correspondence upon the subject has passed between the Westminster Union Board of Guardians and the Local Government Board; and, if so, whether he has any objection to lay it before the House?
MR. SCLATEER-BOOTH, in reply, said, that his attention had been called to the circumstances related in the Question of the hon. Member, which were now being inquired into by the War Office. He was not able at present to lay the Papers on the Table of the House. The Correspondence asked for by the hon. Member would not convey much information in the absence of the further documents which he hoped would shortly be forthcoming.
