HC Deb 01 March 1872 vol 209 cc1219-20
MR. HUNT

wished to know the intentions of the Government as to the Resolutions respecting the Business of the House. The adjourned debate on the Chancellor of the Exchequer's Resolution as to counts-out at present stood for Monday, the 11th of March, and a number of other Resolutions to be proposed by the right hon. Gentleman and other Members stood on the Paper. Did the Government intend to resume the debate on that day, or did they intend to give the House an opportunity of considering those Resolutions on some other Government night?

MR. GLADSTONE

I believe I can state with confidence that the debate on the Resolutions of the Chancellor of the Exchequer will not be resumed on the 11th of March, and in the present state of Public Business I cannot indicate any day on which the subject of those Resolutions generally can be resumed. I hope the right hon. Gentleman will take any course he may think proper, independently of any course that may be taken by the Government.
