§ MR. WATKIN WILLIAMSasked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether he has any objection to the introduction into the Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes Bill of a Clause providing that bills and notes falling due upon Christmas Day, Good Friday, and Sundays shall be payable upon the day following, instead of upon the day before such days as at present, in conformity with the Bank Holidays Bill, recently passed through this House, which provides that all Bills falling due on the new Bank Holidays shall be payable on the day following such holidays?
§ MR. BAXTERsaid, he considered it would be very objectionable to introduce such a clause as the hon. and learned Gentleman referred to into the Bills of Exchange and Promissory Notes Bill now before the House.
