said, he would beg to ask the Secretary to the Board of Trade, If it is the intention of the Board to make a Special Report on the Bills for powers to lay upwards of 125 miles of Tramways on streets within the limits of the Metropolis before those Bills are read a second time?

MR. SHAW-LEFEVRE

The best answer that I can give to the Question of the hon. Member is to state that the whole question in now under the consideration of the Board of Trade, and I hope in the course of a few days to be able to make a statement with reference to the numerous Bills now before the House relating to metropolitan tramways. I may state that, in the meantime, the second reading of those Bills has been postponed.
