MONCREIFFsaid, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether it is the intention of Government to fill up the present vacancy in the Collegiate Charge of the parish of Canongate, in Edinburgh; and, whether he intends to introduce any measure relative to the Annuity Tax in that parish?
§ MR. WALPOLEsaid, in reply, that in consequence of the representations made to the Government, it was not intended to fill up the presentation, and it was under consideration whether they would bring in a Bill relative to the annuity tax.
