said, he wished to ask the Under Secretary of State for India, Whether, with reference to the pledge which has been given to this House, that all the public and bonâ fide claims against the late State of Oude would be paid out of the revenues of the country, it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to support the Report of the Commission appointed by the Government of India to investigate and report upon the cases of the several claimants; or what steps are intended to be taken for the purpose of adjusting the same?

MR. STANSFELD

, in reply, said, he could give no definite answer to the Question at present, as the Report of the Commission had not as yet been received by the Government.
