MR. PEELsaid, in reply, that no arrangement had, as yet, been made. As regarded the salaries of the employés,the Treasury was perfectly ready to adopt a progressive scale, but no regulations for the purpose could be of any effect until they had met with the concurrence of the Chief Judge.
