HC Deb 04 July 1865 vol 180 c1162
MR. DARBY GRIFFITH

asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether, without imprudence, he is able to give the House any further account of the probability of obtaining the liberation of the English gentleman who has fallen into the hands of Italian brigands?

MR. LAYARD,

in reply, said, he had to state that intelligence had been received on the 29th of last month of Mr. Moens; his friends were in communication with him, and he hoped Mr. Moens would soon be out of the hands of the brigands.
