HC Deb 06 April 1865 vol 178 c783
MR. HENRY SEYMOUR

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If the Government intend to take any steps to amend the Patents of the Colonial Bishops, defining their jurisdiction?

MR. CARDWELL

said, in reply, that the Patents which had been issued by the Patent Office were now undergoing careful examination with a view of submitting a case for the opinion of the Law Officers of the Crown. It was the intention of the Government most carefully to examine the late decision of the Privy Council before any further Patents were issued.
