HC Deb 03 July 1863 vol 172 cc173-4
COLONEL FRENCH

said, he would beg to ask the Secretary of State for India, Ii he can explain why the claims on the late Government of Oude, all the parties to which are in England, cannot be investigated here, instead of in India?

SIR CHARLES WOOD

said, in reply, that although he was aware the parties were in this country, all the evidence was in India; and therefore the investigation would take place there.
