HC Deb 07 March 1862 vol 165 cc1155-6
MR. LESLIE

said, he would now beg to ask the Lord Advocate, Whether the Salmon Fisheries (Scotland) Bill, and the Roads and Bridges (Scotland) Bill, will be brought forward during the present Session?

THE LORD ADVOCATE

replied, that the Roads and Bridges Bill of last year had given rise to so much difficulty, and so much difference of opinion had been expressed on the subject, that he did not propose to introduce any measure of the kind during the present Session. With regard to the Salmon Fisheries, without going the length to which the Bill of last year extended, he thought it might be in his power to introduce a Bill by which the interests of parties concerned in those fisheries would be better preserved than they were at present.
