THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

moved the following Resolution:— That, towards raising the Supply granted to Her Majesty, there shall be charged and paid for and upon every Promissory Note made in the United Kingdom for the payment of any sum of Money exceeding £4,000, now chargeable with the Stamp Duty of £2 5s., the following rate of Stamp Duty in lieu of the said duty now chargeable thereon (that is to say); for every £1,000 or part of £1,000 of the Money thereby made payable the Duty of Ten Shillings.

Resolution agreed to.
