HC Deb 07 June 1858 vol 150 c1611
VISCOUNT DUNCAN

said, he would beg to ask the Lord Advocate what steps he intends to take to remedy the present defective accommodation for holding Sheriff Courts in Scotland?

THE LORD ADVOCATE

was understood to say that it was only very recently that the attention of the Government had been called to the subject. The only fund from which to pay the expenses was the Consolidated, by Vote of that House. He could assure the noble Lord that an inquiry should be made in the course of the autumn, in order that an estimate might be prepared of the costs and expenses which would be necessary for the purpose.
