HC Deb 12 July 1858 vol 151 c1284
MR. TURNER

said, he wished to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty what impediments exist which prevent the execution of the various proposed Harbour Works in the Isle of Man, as approved by the Tynwald Court on the 19th day of March, 1857.

SIR JOHN PAKINGTON

said, that as to Port Ramsay there were no impediments at all. The plans were approved of, and there was nothing to prevent them being carried out. The plans for Port Douglas were not approved of. It was not thought that they would effect the object sought, and they had been referred back to the Isle of Man. As to the Port of Peel no plans had yet been officially submitted to the Admiralty.
