THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERThe question with respect to legislation on Weights and Measures was considered last Session, and I then stated the difficulty which would arise from the introduction of any compulsory law for the purpose of enforcing a uniformity of Weights and Measures. I shall be quite ready to receive any suggestion which the hon. Gentleman may wish to put into my hands; but I cannot at this moment undertake to introduce a Bill on the subject.
