HC Deb 05 May 1856 vol 141 c2032
CAPTAIN SCOBELL

said, he wished to ask the First Lord of the Admiralty if it had yet been determined whether some of Her Majesty's line-of-battle ships, frigates, or smaller vessels of war, now lying unemployed in the home ports or in those abroad, should assist in embarking and bringing away from the Crimea the troops, or cannon, munitions of war, and other stores, being public property?

SIR CHARLES WOOD

said, that two or three vessels of war had been ordered to the Crimea to bring home troops; but it was not intended that ships of war should be employed to any extent in that service.
