HAWESlaid on the Table of the House a copy of a despatch which had been received by the noble Lord at the head of the Colonial Office, communicating 822 the fact that a sum of 1,200l., being the first instalment from British Guiana in aid of the subscriptions for the relief of the distress in Ireland and Scotland, had been voted by that colony. He might take that opportunity of adding, that a grant of 2,000l. had already been transmitted from the Island of Barbadoes to the British Association for the relief of the distress in Ireland.
