§ Mr. TufnellHaving heard that the right hon. Gentleman, the Member for Ripon, had accepted the office of Lord Chancellor of Ireland, he wished to know the reason why a new writ had not been moved for for Ripon.
§ Sir E. Sugdensaid, those measures were not completed which would displace the former officers.
§ Sir R. Peelsaid, no change whatever had as yet been made. It was the intention that the appointment alluded to by Mr. Tufnell should be made, but the ceremony even of kissing hands had not yet taken place.
