Mr. Hopemoved the third reading of the Copyhold and Customary Tenure Bill.
§ Mr. Goulburnmoved the adjournment of the debate, as at that late hour, it could not be properly discussed.
§ Mr. Aglionbystrongly supported the motion. The bill had been twice committed, and its provisions fully discussed, and he thought it ought not to be further delayed.
§ Mr. Goulburnasked for a short delay, on the ground of the amount of property touched by the bill, and because the right hon. Member for Ripon, who was not in his place, had various objections to it, The right hon. Gentleman moved the adjournment of the debate.
§ The House divided On the question of adjournment:—Ayes 17, Noes 72: Majority 55.
