§ Sir F. Burdettrose for the purpose of withdrawing the motion he had given notice of with reference to the presentation of an address to her most gracious Majesty, that she would be pleased to 705 direct the erection in St. Paul's Cathedral of a monument to the memory of the late Sir Sidney Smith. He was induced to adopt this course in consequence of his having understood that the subject would be brought forward by another hon. Member, into whose hands he (Sir F. Burdett) meant to leave it, as that hon. Gentleman was better able and far more competent to discharge that duty.
