HC Deb 17 May 1887 vol 315 cc253-4
MR. MASON (Lanark, Mid)

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether he will inform the House by what means the Government propose to levy Income Tax on the profits earned by foreigners in this country who have no places of business here?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (Mr. GOSCHEN) (St. George's, Hanover Square)

This question is still before the High Court of Justice; and I can add nothing to the reply which has been already given to the hon. Member on this subject.
