Mr. Brady

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Skills how many members of each learning and skills council have resigned since the establishment of the councils; and how many of those were representatives of(a) business, (b) trade unions and (c) education providers, expressed as (i) a number and (ii) a percentage. [holding answer 18 November 2002]There are currently over 700 members of local Learning and Skills Councils. The information requested is provided in the table.

It is not possible to calculate the percentages as the number of council members is constantly changing.
