To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list for the latest available year the value of benefits paid by his Department to claimants in the(a) Liverpool and (b) Wirral areas. [72185]

The information is not available in the format requested. Such information as is available is in the tables. Where a benefit is paid centrally its value cannot be broken down to local figures, unless it is paid with a locally administered benefit such as Income Support.

2. Liverpool consists of Knowsley, Liverpool Mersey, Liverpool North and Sefton Districts. The BA local offices which make up these districts are: Liverpool Huyton, Liverpool Kirkby, Liverpool Belle Vale, Liverpool Edgehill, Liverpool Garston, Liverpool Toxteth, Liverpool Breckfield, Liverpool West Derby, Liverpool Bootle, Liverpool Crosby and Southport.

3. Wirral is one BA district with Birkenhead and Wallasey local offices.
