§ Mr. RaynsfordAs stated in the White Paper "Modern Local Government—In Touch with the People" (Cm 4014), we will consult widely before putting any new models in place. Such consultation will include consideration of the applicability of any model to single service authorities, including metropolitan fire and civil defence authorities and combined fire authorities.
