§ Angela Eagle[holding answer 21 May 1998]: The Countryside Commission intends to present its formal advice to Ministers on its work on the designated landscape areas, including the South Downs, by mid June. We will need to look at the Commission's recommendations very carefully, together with all the information available, before taking any final decisions. We hope to be able to announce our conclusions in the autumn.
