In the 1996–97 and 1997–98 financial years DFID has supported a number of NGO projects in Western Thailand and Eastern Myanmar:

Humanitarian Assistance— Emergency Response 1997/98 80,000 World Vision
Humanitarian Assistance— Refugees 1996/97 150,000 Burma Border Consortium
Humanitarian Assistance— Refugees 1997/98 267,000 Burma Border Consortium

Assistance includes food and essential items to Burmese refugees in border camps in both Thailand and Burma (Burmese Border Consortium) and reproductive health, education and medical equipment provided through the SGS.
