§ Clare ShortMy Department does not favour export subsidies. The Aid and Trade provision has been ended. The White Paper on International Development makes it clear that we will consider within country programmes whether mixed credits would contribute to our central goal of reducing poverty by encouraging appropriate economic growth and investment in human development.
