To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment if he will estimate how many of those leaving the New Deal for unsubsidised jobs remain in those jobs for more than(a) one month, (b) two months and (c) three months. [61078]

[holding answer 30 November 1998]: The New Deal statistics are revised each month to remove from the cumulative unsubsidised jobs count any participant who has remained in a job less than 13 weeks.

The length of time those moving into unsubsidised jobs have remained (a) in those jobs and (b) in employment, will be assessed as part of the evaluation of the New Deal.
