§ Dr. Jack CunninghamMarket prices for cereals have fallen significantly over the past twelve months but it is difficult to say how much of this is due to green pound revaluations and how much to other factors. Arable area payments to farmers in 1997 have been substantially protected from the effects of recent revaluations under arrangements agreed by the EU Agriculture Council in March this year.
