§ Mr. RookerIn order to ensure that healthy eating advice is based on firm scientific grounds, the Ministry supports a programme of research and, together with the Department of Health, a surveillance programme of the diet of the population.
271WThe Ministry, working closely with the Department of Health and the Health Education Authority, develops literature on healthy eating based on this information and on expert advice from the Committee on Medical Aspects of Food and Nutrition Policy (COMA), and disseminates a range of materials to the general public and to health professionals.
