HC Deb 26 February 1997 vol 291 c218W
Mr. Donohoe

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much his Department estimates it cost to establish each executive agency set up by his Department since the start of April 1992. [16967]

Sir Paul Beresford

The only executive agency for which the Department of the Environment is responsible which has been set up since the start of April 1992 is the Planning Inspectorate executive agency. It was set up on 1 April 1992 to continue the duties already being carried out by the Planing Inspectorate. The only costs involved were administrative costs. These would have been minimal; no figures are available.
