HC Deb 23 January 1996 vol 270 cc165-6W
Mr. Parry

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on his recent visit to Beijing. [10356]

Mr. Hanley

I refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer which I gave to the hon. Member for Liverpool, West Derby (Mr. Wareing) on 22 January,Official Report, column 10.

Mr. Parry

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will list the names of hon. Members who have made representations to him concerning the television programme "The Dying Rooms". [10328]

Mr. Hanley

Those hon. Members who have made representations to my right hon. and learned Friend the Foreign Secretary have done so in confidence on behalf of constituents. It would be a breach of that confidence to provide the list requested.

Questions have been tabled in the House by the hon. Member for Liverpool, Mossley Hill, (Mr. Alton), and in another place by Lord Braine of Wheatley. Early-day motion 245, tabled by my hon. Friend the Member for Wyre Forest (Mr. Coombs), also addressed this subject.
