To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how much money was spent in each region of England in(a) set-aside payments under the arable area scheme and (b) total arable area payments, in 1994–95. [7196]

[holding answer 20 December 1995]: Information relating to the amounts paid in each region of England in 1994–95 for set-aside and for total arable area payments, including set-aside, is not available. The table gives the payments claimed in each region. The total amounts paid will have been slightly lower following any necessary reductions.
