HC Deb 22 November 1995 vol 267 cc224-5W
Mr. Cohen

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when the inter-departmental group on domestic violence last met; and what policy decisions arose. [333]

Mr. Maclean

For the policy issues considered at the last meeting of the ministerial group on domestic violence, held on 17 May 1994, I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to his question on 17 January, columns 380–81. A date for the next meeting of the ministerial group has not yet been fixed, but it is likely to meet early in the new year.

The official inter-departmental group on domestic violence met on Wednesday 15 November 1995. The group reviewed the Government-funded domestic violence public awareness campaign and the recent publication of an inter-agency circular designed to promote a more co-ordinated response to domestic violence by local agencies. It also considered possible future areas of work and commissioned further work on the need for a centrally co-ordinated policy on refuge provision.
